Abstract
After extensive formal study by the General Assembly of the United Presbyterian Church in the USA, it was noticed that after 25 years of almost uninterrupted membership growth, the UPCUSA, along with most other mainline Protestant denominations, has showed marked membership losses beginning in the mid-1960. In addition, there has been a decline in church school enrollment, a marked decline in baptism, and other factors indicating a· .loss of vitality, as well as numerical decrease.
